Architecture, Interior design and decorations are absolutely deeply integrated within our lives, an element we cannot simply give up on, it exists indeed in every detail of our lives, our homes are the safest place we can ever be in, therefore it is so much important that we take care of every specific in it, in the midst of the current circumstances the entire world is facing, our houses not merely the safest but also the healthiest space we can remain in. During the pandemic breakout, our homes were the first safe haven we thought of, it is the warm place any family gather up in and spend unforgettable memories. Therefore, to what extent you think is it important that we must beautifully design our homes?
Meet Omar Anabtawi, Omar is an architect and active member in the community of Station – J. in this blog, he will enlighten us with his professional experience in this field, he graduated from Birzeit University in 2007 as an architect, he started his career journey since then, first worked with Taawon – Welfare Association for approx. nine months before he decided to move to the UAE to get wider experience in this field, he joined a well-known consultancy firm named: Khatib&Alami. Later on, he returned to Palestine with much more expertise and decided to benefit his own city, one of the most interesting projects he worked on is an infrastructure and construction project (PCID) in Gaza and West Bank with Anera, a huge project which constructed many buildings from nurseries to schools, renovation of cultural centers, Care- homes, clinics. He worked for five years and then moved to work in a local private engineering office for two years to further enrich his experience. From here, he decided to launch his own business and initiate his own architecture office where his works reflect his own name, and not for the beneficiary of others, he decided to take the risk and be his own boss in choosing the unique style of his own designs and differentiate his style from others and therefore has his own clients. Omar indicated that in freelance world; one of the most challenges the entrepreneur might face is: “the financial return at the beginning unlike the ordinary eight-to-five job in terms of financial security, however once you begin, the issues will be solved and you’ll find yourself on the right track” Omar told us.
Omar stresses that what we don’t know about architecture is that it reflects the culture, identity of the town and its history, and we can know so much about a certain city from its architecture, what most saddens Omar is that our city lacks its visible identity which is not showcased through the structure and building blocks, according to him it is because architects here don’t pay special attention nor put effort in building an outstanding designs, all what we can witness are blocks next to each other, not considering privacy or outdoor space. ” I aspire through my office to not merely build blocks but rather exceptional designs which catch the eye and reflect my own personality through”.
Now from what has been discussed above, can you guess what does L.I. More Omar Studio stand for? How does this name express Omar’s kind of work? Since simplicity is rule number one in Omar’s work, no better name can fit other than:” Less is More”, he told us that “the simpler the place, whether it’s in the lines or in the basic geometrical shapes, the richer the space will be. It will feel the same as if you are enjoying the scene of artistic works or paintings”, That’s the message he wanted us to get.

الهندسة والتصميم الداخلي والديكورات بالتأكيد داخلة بحياتنا بكل تفاصيلها، عنصر بكل بساطة ما منقدر نستغني عنو، بيوتنا من دون شك هي المحل الأول الي احنا منشعر فيه بالأمان، فبالتالي أكيد لازم ننتبه لكل جزء موجود فيه، في ظل الظروف الي عم نمرق فيها، مش بس المحل الي منشعر فيه بالأمان بل هو أكتر مكان صحي ممكن نتواجد فيه بأي أزمة عالمية بتصير حوالينا، في أزمة الكورونا الي صارت بيتنا كان الملاذ الامن الي توجهنالو، هو أكيد المحل الدافي الي العيلة بتتجمع فيه وبتمضي ذكريات حلوة ما بتنتسى.
عشان هيك حسب رأيكم لأي درجة ممكن يكون مهم انو لازم نتروق لنقي ونصمم تفاصيل بيوتنا ؟
عمر هو مهندس وعضو فعال في مجتمع محطة القدس، وبهادا المقال رح يحكيلنا أكتر عن مجال الهندسة ، عمر من خريجين بيرزيت لسنة ال 2007 بتخصص الهندسة المعماري، ومن هون بدت رحلته المهنية بمجال الهندسة. أول وظيفة الو كانت مع مؤسسة التعاون على مشروع كبير لمدة 9 أشهر، بعد هاي الوظيفة قرر انو يطلع برا البلد عالامارات عشان يعمق ويطور خبرته بهادا المجال ويتعلم أكتر، توظف بشركة استشارات معروفة اسمها: خطيب العلمي، بعدها قرر انو يرجع عالبلد عشان يفيد مجتمعه ويطور بلده من الي تعلمه برا. واحد من المشاريع الي كانت كتير مهمة بالنسبة لعمر واشتغل عليها هو مشروع انشاء وبنية تحتية كان اسمو (PCID) بمناطق الضفة الغربية وغزة مع مؤسسة الأنيرا، مشروع كبير اشتغل على بناء كتير من المؤسسات المجتمعية مثل المدارس، الروضات، ترميم مراكز ثقافية ، عيادات ودور مسنين. ضل هناك ل 5 سنين وبعدها انتقل لمكتب هندسي خاص واشتغل هناك سنتين. من هون قررت اني افتح مشروعي الخاص وأحط اسمي على التصاميم الي انا ببتكرها وشغلي ما ينزل باسم حدا غيري، وأكيد لانو انا بدي أكون مسؤوول نفسي وأكون انا الشخص الي بحدد ساعات عمل دوامي. وأميز تصاميمي عن تصاميم غيري ويكون الي بصمتي الخاصة بهادا المجال.
عمر أكدلنا انه بمجال الريادة والشغل الحر، من أصعب الشغلات الي ممكن تواجه الريادي الي هي الأمور المالية والعائد المادي في البداية بالذات، على عكس الوظيفية المستقرة الي فيها ضمان مالي بنهاية كل شهر، ومع هيك بس الواحد يتشجع ويبدا بشغفه ومشروعه الأمور بتبدا تاخد مجراها الطبيعي بشكل تدريجي.
لما سألنا عمر عن أكتر اشي بالهندسة مهم والاشخاص الغير مهندسين ممكن ما ينتبهوله هو أنه الهندسة دايما بتعكس الحضارة والهوية للبلدة وبتحكي أكتر عن تاريخها، وكتير منقدر نعرف عن تاريخ بلد معين بمجرد انو نطلع على هندسة وطريقة بنا المباني الي فيها. بقول عمر انه هندسة المباني الحالية ببلدتنا ناقصها كتير عنصر مهم والي هو ابراز الهوية والحضارة فيها. السبب انو كتير من المهندسيين ببلدنا بعتبرو البناء مهمة ولازم يتم انجازها بوقت محدد وبنسو عنصر مهم وأساسي فيها وال هو الفن وابتكار التصاميم المميزة.
” أنا بطمح من خلال مكتبي انو مش بس أصمم بيوت وعمارات مصفوفة جمب بعض، بالعكس لازم يكون اشي مميز يخطف الأنظار ويعكس شخصية المصمم وخياله وابداعه “.

كيف هادا الاسم بعكس نوعية تصاميم عمر ؟ بما انه البساطة هي قاعدة رقم واحد بتصاميم عمر، ولا اسم بنطبق مع شغله أكتر من ” الأقل يعني الأكتر “، هو بحكيلنا انه ” كل ما كان المكان بسيط أكتر، سواء البساطة كانت بالخطوط أو بالاشكال الهندسية، المحل بكون أغنى أكتر ، بكون نفس الشعور بالزبط لما الواحد يستمتع وهو بنظر لمشهد لعمل فني أو لوحة فنية ” هاي هي الرسالة الي حابب المهندس عمر انو يوصللنا ياها.
